Electronics Engineering vs. Electrical Engineering

What exactly the difference between Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering? What types of things could you design and build with an Electronics Engineering major? What types of things could you design and build with an Electrical Engineering major? How does each of them apply to robotics? Are either of them plausible as a double major with computer science? Thanks in advance.

[ABET -](http://www.abet.org) considers “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” to be a single accreditation criteria category. Other categories include “Chemical Engineering”, “Civil Engineering”, “Computer Engineering”, “Computer Science”, “Mechanical Engineering”, etc…

Electrical engineering can cover subjects like electronics, integrated circuits, computer architecture, fields/waves/communications, signal processing, and power generation.

Many schools do combine the major with computer engineering and/or computer science, although you may have to choose a particular area of emphasis. Robotics does involve electrical engineering, computer science and engineering, and mechanical engineering.

They are pretty much interchangeable.

But it really depends. Look at the individual programs and what you’re required to take.
Also, dont double major. It is a waste of time, money ,and energy. Get a masters.
