Electronics Technology

I'm not sure which category this falls under, but I figured it was kind of engineering since it sounds similar to electrical and other types of engineering.

Anyway, I was wondering what this major is, and if it is worth going into for what I want to do. I would like to test things, try to break them, things like that. I've heard that getting an Associates degree in Electronics Technology would be what I would want to go into for this. However, I am unsure that this is the correct thing for me. I am also skeptical that since it is only an associates degree, I will be missing quite a few opportunities I could get with another degree. I am also unsure of the job market for this kind of thing, and I do not know if there are as many jobs in this field as there are in others. What are your thoughts?

It is a technology degree, not an engineering degree. If you want to be an engineer, designing new products, you will need a four year B.S. degree in engineering. There are also 4 year technology degrees you can get. Are you looking at an Associates degree from a Community College?
