Elementary Education

My sister wants to major in Elementary Education. What are some good schools for this major on the east coast? She wants it to be not too small, but not overly large.

Best school for Elementary Education=Lesley University! Located in Cambridge Mass, Lesley has one of the best known education departments for private colleges! Many students chose to enroll directly from undergrad into grad, receiving both their BA and MFA from Lesley. Under the umbrella of Lesley University there are several school including The Graduate school of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School of Education, an Online Master Program and two undergraduate schools, Lesley College and the Art Institute of Boston. Lesley College has about 1,300 students and AIB has around 500. While the admissions process is separate, once excepted into the university the underrate population is completely integrated. While Lesley offered all the usual focus for education, such as English, Math, Science, ect. They also offer exciting minors (or majors for others) in Environmental Science, Art Therapy, Counseling, and Psychology. I am currently a rising Junior at AiB and clearly I’m pretty excited about it! Lesley is truly a great school for those looking to work within the feilds of Art, Education, Environmental Concerns, and Human Services!

Lynch School of Education - Boston College - Younger D has undergrad in Elementary Education/Human Development and grad degree in Special Ed. It is a highly respected school in the northeast.

Mount Holyoke College (all women) has a very strong education program. It’s a dual degree Psychology/Education. My daughter is in it. Everyone passes the Massachusetts test, and, of course, MHC is a top ranked college which has lots more to offer.
