Great stuff. Ahh!

Where did you hear about this? It sounds awesome!

It's on the Princeton Public Lectures Series site. http://www.princeton.edu/~publect/index0506.html. Yeah, I'm tr

Phil, you always know about everything Pton related first!

Well, I've been waiting for their '05-'06 lecture series to be announced for a while now, heh. It's not complete yet, but I'm really excited! One of my ECs will definitely be lecture-hopping this year :D Who's with me?! loud grunt

Definitely! I am now entirely too excited. :)

Fancy that, one of my goals is to lecture-hop more. I usually only catch a couple a year... I've decided that's not enough.

Ashley

Princeton never ceases to amaze me. I was able to shake Chinua Achebe's hand there in April and now Elie Wiesel?!?! I'm there.

ah yes, i love Night. I made myself read it over 3 times in one weekend in prep for my english project

wow!! Elie Wiesel... no waaaay!

my grandfather lived in the same town with him, just a few streets away. He told me that he always used to buy stuff from his family's grocery store and all sorts of savorous details like that (like the fact that he was born in Romania but didn't speak a bit of Romanian, because they spoke only Yiddish at home etc)...

My father was at one of his talks once, and i'm sure to go!! Thanks so much, Phil!!! :D :D

btw, how do you pronounce his name? My English teachers always said "Ee-lie Weasel" but I'm 87% sure that's not correct.

I've always pronounced it Eh-lee Vee-sul. But I really have no idea.

i know him as "eh-lee vee-zael" , or i think vee-sul is a better way to write it down. yup

weasel?? hahaha... fuuuuuh-nny!!!

Lectures with famous speakers will be very crowded. Show up at least 30 min early if you want a seat.

Last year's crowded lectures included Ralph Nader, McNamara, and Paul Rusesabagina. The Woodrow Wilson Colloquium lectures can get very crowded as well. I'm sure there were others that I missed.

Some lectures have ticket lotteries, also. I was lucky enough to get into the one with Colin Powell and then had a scheduling conflict :-/ Didn't get into the one with Sandra Day O'Connor.

However, there is simulcast and web streaming.

Advice. If you're really interested in hearing/meeting political speakers, join Whig-Clio. You don't have to be member of the subsidiaries (Mock Trial, Princeton Model Congress, Debate Team, The Soapbox) to join, although they are often the main reason people do.
