Eligibility and Chance of Acceptance

I am currently a sophomore and I am more of a math and science person, but English is kicking my butt. I have a B in that class, and the rest all A's. My class rank is 20 out of 5xx students. I am also involved in lots of community service projects through Student Council and Beta Club. I plan on doing International, Key, FBLA, and Red Cross before I graduate. Is there still a good chance of me getting accepted even though I have a B?

Is English your first language?

Yes, I am. I am currently in English 3 Honors.

I’m not sure you understood my question: Is English the language that is used for instruction at your school in courses such as Math, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics? Is English the language you speak at home? Are you an international student who is taking English, but English is not the language you speak everyday to your friends and family?

I am from America, I know English lol. But in high school you still take english. I’m not doing so well in the CLASS, I have a B, but I am fine in terms of language. I’ve been speaking it for like 15 years.

^^ Thank you. I was just trying to get a handle on the issue.

Reading and writing is critical to success at Harvard. Even students majoring in Math or Physics have to take 9 General Education courses including Expository Writing (http://www.generaleducation.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do</a>). While one B is okay, more than one B is not going to put your application at the top of the pile – unless you are a recruited athlete or Intel Finalist. So, if you’re struggling in English class, you need to find a tutor, be it a student or teacher, and start raising those English grades.

What do you mean good chance lol. Nobody have a good chance of getting into Harvard. Even if you have perfect GPA and test scores, you are still more likely to be rejected than accepted.
