Eligible to Skip Question

I am currently filling out my FASFA and I received this message,

Based on your answers to previous questions, you may skip certain income and asset questions, including:

* Your and your parents' income taxes and exemptions.
* Your and your parents' untaxed income and income exclusions.
* Your and your parents' assets.

Should I skip or not skip? and will my decision affect the amount of financial aid?
What are advantages/disadvantages of answering those questions?

I assume you got those messages because your parents' AGI is $30,000 or less. Is this correct?

yes, its less than 30k

That qualifies you for automatic 0 EFC. You can skip the info - it's not used in the EFC formula, because your income automatically qualifies you for a 0 EFC.

Unless you have a state scholarship program that requires you list assets, you can skip the info it lets you skip.

Did you check that someone in family has federal means tested benefits? If not, did you check that parents are eligible to file 1040A or 1040EZ? Or is a parent a dislocated worker?
