<p>I just wanted to say hello to anyone applying to transfer to Yale, Brown, Harvard, Pomona, Vassar, Columbia, Cornell, Amherst, Rice, Berkeley and maybe Stanford. I'm sure we'll have a lot to toss back and forth. </p>

<p>If there are any schools that you're interested in, why don't you check their websites? Most of them have a specific section for transfer students that will state when they accept transfers (and the application deadlines).</p>
<p>I think that UM allows midyear transfer.</p>
<p>I'm fairly certain that Cornell allows mid-year transfer, as does Northwestern, WashU, Emory, Vanderbilt, Rice (whose deadline is Friday), Carnegie Mellon, Michigan and Virginia with deadlines hovering between 01 November and 15 November.</p>

<p>I do not want to dicourage you from applying but this year's College Confidential international transfer pool [including myself] received ZERO financial aid from Cornell. I was accepted to Arts and Sciences, Economics major with 4.0 GPA [along with other 40 international students]. Apparently they gave out 4 finaid packages...we have not seen them! Good luck!</p>

<p>Hi everyone. I am thinking about applying to Harvard, MIT and Yale for fall 2005 transfer and would like to have your opinion on my chances. I am a sophmore at Georgia Tech majoring in chemical engineering. My stats are as follows:</p>

SAT 1:1390 (740M,650V)
SAT II: Math IIC:790, Math IC:760, Chem:760</p>
<p>I am an international student and went to University of georgia (UGA) for my freshman year. I tranferred to Georgia Tech in Fall 04( I had also applied to MIT, Harvard, Yale and cornell but was rejected everywhere). so what dou you guys think. do I have a chance at these universities especially considering that I will be needing financial aid?
My EC's are really not much to talk about except that I was a peer tutor at UGA, some campus orgs, and community service .

<p>I scarcely believe I'm the only applying to these schools on this board.</p>
<p>Some schools need--not want--you to have some compelling reason for transferring. I can see why you might want to transfer to MIT from Georgia Tech, but I don't quite see a relationship between going from GT to Yale or Harvard, whose engineering programs aren't notably stronger than GT. </p>
<p>That's what you have to determine. Not prestige. How do you fit in? When you figure that out, write a compelling essay that illustrates your desire to move on. If you don't, you're screwed.</p>
<p>And if they've rejected you before, you'd better come up with a stellar application; otherwise, you're wasting $75. </p>
<p>FYI: Out of 319 applicants to MIT last year, they accepted 5. 2%.</p>

<p>I'm a freshman at William and Mary, and I'm applying to Penn, Yale, Brown, Cornell, and Georgetown. We'll probably have a lot of bantering to do once most of the apps come out.</p>
<p>up40love, just to let you know, they accepted a lot more transfers this fall (there are 11 who came, and they actually wanted 15 to come, but I don't know what exactly happened).</p>

<p>I'm also applying, to: Brown, CAl, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, Stanford, Harvard, Cornell, and Yale. But at this point, as a CA resident, I think I'd choose CAL over every one of those schools, except stanford, harvard, and yale. But I'm not sure. Good luck everyone!</p>
