Sorry - in portal
My dd is an alternate for communications fellow. Does anyone know how that works? I assume if she commits elsewhere, Elon would take her out of contention for fellows as an alternate.
Was it a decision letter in the portal? My daughterâs portal isnât showing either way.
My daughter received an email informing her there was an update to her application. Once in the portal there was link for the update to her app. The decision was there.
My daughter is an alternate, Iâm guessing students either get it or are an alternate?
I got an email telling me there had been an application update in my portal. Checked the portal and I got into Leadership Fellows around 6:30 pm EST!
Did anyone have a child that has not had their portal update with a decision either way?
Yes there was nothing in my daughters portal last night. She interviewed for Honors. Possibly didnât get it and not an alternate, but seems like they should have told her. Maybe a glitch?
There is no separate tab in the portal this time. The acceptance letter is what is updated.
Congratulations to all Fellows Awardees.
I do have a question. Is anyone who received these award scholarship, a full cash paying student? I know they are open to all applicants, but in the end are they more needs based?
Itâs my understanding that these programs are fully just merit and not need based at all. They have an Odyssey Scholars program that has a need based consideration
Yes I do realize that. I was just curious if in the end did any student who is full paying student get one of these awards.
I donât know about now, but I know my nephew got this a few years ago, and he was full pay.
Received an email indicating portal update, Fellows award is in the portal. Not needs-related.
D is an alternate. It makes her decision easier since the Fellows program was going to be why she might choose Elon over her other schools.
Does anyone know when regular decisions come out?
March 20: Dates and Deadlines
My daughter received honors fellows yesterday and is a full-pay student.
Parent of graduating SD and prospective first year son here. 4 years ago SD applied for the Leadership Fellows program and became an alternate. Although disappointed to be an alternate, she decided to attend Elon anyway and we are so glad she did. Yes, there were the typical college struggles along the way, but she has found endless opportunities to enhance her leadership skills at Elon without needing the Fellows program. She has excelled academically, held leadership positions within her sorority and as an employee of the university, has studied abroad twice (once for a semester and once over J term), conducts research with a graduate program at Elon and is doing an unofficial internship. She started at Elon as a rather shy student not knowing what she wanted to major in, but has found her voice and has made connections with faculty who share her academic passions. Her friends are equally involved in myriad different endeavors. It has been a fantastic experience. Not sure where my current HS senior will attend and it is his choice, but I really canât say enough good things about Elon. Regardless of whether students are in the Fellows program, they will find their path and will have plenty of opportunities to stand out and find success to prepare them for whatever is ahead after Elon.
Thank you so much for this input! Curiosity question, is âalternateâ different than âwaitlistedâ?
