<p>What a joke. Three sport athlete deferred with a 31 ACT and a 3.6 GPA.</p>

<p>EDIT: To be fair I didn’t write the “optional” essay, still thoroughly confused though.</p>

<p>Those of you who mention scholarships, was that in an email or via phone call or via U.S. mail. We are in California and see an email that my son was admitted and a packet in the mail, but nothing more. Does that mean he probably got no scholarship or merit money?</p>

<p>I’m also in California and got accepted with the Presidential Scholarship. I just got an email with an admission notice and a sentence or two stating I got the scholarship.

<p>@throwaway73434 Were you/they being recruited? Elon truly values demonstrated interest and does not like being used as a ‘safety’. They have a track record of deferring EA applicants who are very strong academically who dont have much demonstrated interest.</p>

<p>I visited Elon from out of state, if that counts towards demonstrating interest. I did however fail to communicate with my admission officer, so definitely didn’t help my case. Elon was definitely a safety school for me but I really enjoyed the school and I could see myself attending.</p>

<p>1960 SAT, 3.65 GPA, 2 sports with varsity since freshman year on one of those sports. Can’t believe they would defer someone like that.</p>

<p>This was one of my least selective schools and I got into higher ranked schools. I am truly at a loss.</p>

<p>Accepted with an engagement scholarship! 3.64 GPA, 2180 SAT. Just so unbelievably happy right now, as this is my first acceptance after a few deferrals and an Early Decision rejection. Excited to explore my options later on…Elon is definitely in the mix!</p>
