<p>Hi guys my son recently got into the university of maryland, college-park and elon university. I was hoping someone could help us make this tough decision. We're both contemplating the positives/negatives of both but we are still undecided. We would both really appreciate your help. Thanks</p>
<p>If you were asking us to compare say, Mt. Holyoke vs. Swarthmore, or Maryland vs. Virginia, then we could tell you about some pros and cons. But Maryland vs. Elon is an apples to oranges comparison that only you can make, based on what you want in a college experience. Choosing between a LAC, a small regional or a large research university is usually done before apps are sent out.</p>

<p>Wow…what plumazul said. I’d recommend that he make a list of all the different factors, and then try to prioritize each factor in order of how important they are. That’s what D did when trying to decide between some VERY different graduate schools. The list should be as long as possible and exhaust every possible difference/factor…just he feels he’s covered all his bases. In the end, it will come down to what works best for you financially, logistically, and most of all, what feels right to him. Make sure he visits both universities while class is in session. (UMD’s spring break is this week).</p>
