Did everyone got that email about performing arts scholarship or just a few? I am actually involved in theatre and my activities had listed some theatre experiences. And I am really excited to get that email. I had not known about it earlier. So, please your reply will be appreciated.
Thanx in advance.

My son just got one today too. We were all surprised, because he hadn’t asked for information about it. But like you, he is very involved in theatre and had written about it in some of his essays. We were hoping it was a positive thing, that obviously they must have looked at his application already and if they were going to reject him, why would they send him information about the scholarship?

Of course, as parents we said…apply for it, money money money!

hope it is a positive thing… I was surprised too. I am soo excited to send in my application. Best of luck to your son.

And good luck to yourself also. Hope you get in, and the scholarship too!

Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking, what is your son interested in? Performing or directing or playwright or technical?

He’s interested in performing, how about you?

I received that email, too! And I got a similar one for music! Break a leg :)

Another thing that was unexpected, is that he said online it says his application is complete. Though he hasn’t had his semester grades sent in yet (the semester isn’t over till tomorrow, and senior semester grades are required). Not sure what to think about that.

May be they don’t need it right now. If they offer an admission then they might ask for it. It happens to many students who are still in their senior year and apply early. But lets hope it is a positive sign! And I am also interested in performing though I have had other experiences as well.

Also, I have not received anything regarding my application. And my applicant portal says my application checklist will be available in 24 hrs. The sad thing is it has been saying that for almost a week now. Should I be worrying about it or is it normal?

That seems kind of odd, but maybe they’re just backed up with entering info. I’d probably call or email them if it stays like that next week, because that almost sounds like it’s stuck on that message. My son said he had that message briefly, and then went away and the checklist appeared.
