Email addresses and orientation assignments?

Anyone have any idea when we're getting these? I got a letter in late June that said we would receive them in... late June... Did I somehow not get mine or something?

This is what I found on the Office of Residence Life's FAQ webpage:

Question: When will I receive my room assignment and roommate information?

Answer: The Office of Residence Life makes every effort to mail room assignment information during the first two weeks of July (generally no later than July 15). Please allow adequate time for mail travel before contacting our office to request a duplicate letter.

You find out about which orientation group you are in as soon as you arrive on campus. A little piece of paper will be waiting for you on your desk with your group name and assigned orientation leader.

Even though I'm not too sure when you find out about email addresses, just know that it is relatively easy to figure out your future address. It follows a simple formula: the first seven letters of your last name followed by your first initial, then @lafayette.edu. If your name was John Massachusetts, your email address would be massachj@lafayette.edu. If your last name is less than seven letters, then just use your whole last name followed by your first initial @lafayette.edu. The webpage to check your email can be accessed by going to mail.lafayette.edu on any computer. If nothing has changed since last year (the Lafayette computer system is going through a HUGE fixing over the summer months), then your password should be the last six digits of your social security number.

Your patience will soon be rewarded!

MacTruck,

I found out some more information about when you will be notified about your room/roommate assignments. It sounds as if the Office of Residence Life sent out the letters on Thursday, July 13. You should be receiving it within a few days.
