Email from head of admissions

<p>Hi everyone!</p>

<p>I did not know what to put as a title that would actually get people to respond, so I put what happened to me. I applied to Amherst College early in the year (October) as a transfer student and got an email not too long after from the head of admissions verifying they got my application and to feel free to visit their website and mark down deadlines. That was then, this is now. I believe transfer students are notified of acceptance in May (you high school students are so lucky). </p>

<p>I have some questions: (1)why Amherst? (2) what do you hope to get out of it? (3)anyone notified of acceptances yet? (4)any other transfer students applying? (5)if you’ve visited Amherst, can someone give an in-depth detail oriented account of Amherst College? Thanks</p>

<p>all i can say is good luck. in case you were interested, last year, 18/162 got in via transfer admission (which i think, roughly, ~8%?)</p>
