wait so #3 is automatic rejection????

I'm pretty sure the theory is that people who got #3's are in, #2 are out, and #1 didn't set an account up...

drsarah: invinshe meant

3 does not equal automatic rejection

=)

I was invited for regents but I got no email...
And they told me at the interview that I got in. So I doubt that the email matters too much. But who knows....

what about no email?!?!

wow 24 pgs in ...2 days?
it's prbly gonna reach 100 pgs by wednesday night

people, please calm down
it's just an email

gosh people.
try some happy thoughts, there are only 4 more days left.
let's hope the decision comes quickly as to end this endless discussion.

crosses fingers for everyone

lextalionis,

I'm in the Berkeley English Honors program, so don't even try me with the "critical reading" thing. The really sad thing about this, is that you're raising the hopes of all these KIDS. I hope all of them do get into Cal! As an adult, show some class and stop making this generic email into something it isn't. I'd hate to see one kid on this forum get rejected, who really thought they were getting in because of your posts. I'm sure you can understand this as a parent.
Best of luck to your child on Thursday, I'm sure he/she is very excited.

Regards

Ps: enough with the malicious comments...you're better than that.

WOW! when i started this thread 48 hrs ago--i asked an simple Q--did anyone get an email??

It has been 2 days, 24 pages, 200 comments and 16,500 views of pure entertainment!

For those of you who didn't get any email, what are you stats?

I think it's super funny that parents get on this site and bicker with high school students (I'm not just talking about this thread either). I mean..... COME ON. Seriously--it's ridiculous. You guys are supposed to be adults, and I know that I'm already 100x more mature than you.

KYLEDAVID: Where are you?!?!?!?!?

xerxes: Couldn't agree more!

lextalionis: Lay off the caffeine dude/dudette. I admire your passion, but it's annoying and immature. Please. Stop. You're making me nervous. I hope you collected lots of eggs today! Bye Bye!

BerkeleyBowles,

I truly apologize if you believe I was being "malicious" with my comments. I'm sure you are a very bright Honors English student who just didn't take the time to compare the language on the Cal web site to the language contained in Version 3 of the e-mail. Otherwise, you would not have missed the difference in the language used and you would not have stated that there "was no difference."

As far as getting "hopes up," I've been very up-front from the start about the fact that I was raising a theory (in response to the OP) about the Cal e-mail in the larger context of the relatively-new phenomenon known as the "likely letter." The "KIDS," as you call them, who read this forum have their own powers of reasoning and are perfectly capable of reaching their own conclusions about the impact (or lack thereof) of the e-mail.

For all I know, Cal could have very well sent out 3 different versions of an e-mail in response to UCLA's early-than-expected release of admission decisions just because they felt like giving themselves more work to do, for no rational reason at all. Could be.

It also could be that the Cal Office of Admissions told one group of applicants to wait to hear from Cal before replying to other UCs just for the heck of it. Could be.

Either which way, I expressly disclaim, in advance, any liability for hurt feelings or crushed expectations if Version 3 is not a "likely letter."

Best of luck in your continued studies, BerkeleyBowles!

Go Bears!

People, stop wasting time and just wait. There is no secret conspiracy nor would the Cal admissions people waste their time with such a thing. Just drop it and wait. Good luck to everyone!

lex:
i appreciate your effort for analyzing the letter because at least it made me feel better. whatever happen is gonna happen. we r smart enough to know that no matter what is being told on this forum it's not promising at all. we all came here just to see what other people think. so we should all repect other people's opinion and appreciate everyone's effort for sharing their opinions.

GOOD LUCK everyone i hope everyone here can get in!!

NO EMAIL

It is 11:17PM right now.
AND NO EMAIL! NONE not 1, 2, or 3.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? :((((((((((((((((((

KYLEDAVID: Where are you?!?!?!?!?

Heh, standing back and watching. =p

Everyone, you're over-analyzing this.

For what it's worth, I got Regents at UCLA and UCSC, and a likely letter from Stanford. I have received nothing from Berkeley.

(I'll probably get rejected. =p)
