Wow...How lame....Was getting excited too

Only URM acceptances? what is the point of doing that?

haha, do you think they wait to send out urm rejections?

emory released urm waitlists and rejections also. they don't just send out acceptances.

do they consider asians as urms?

^ bump it. Asian (Mongolian)??

bump that as well. I'm Indian. But still, what's the point of only releasing URM acceptances? That really makes no sense. Why not send it out to everyone then?

i agree. don't understand the point.

ok well my friend is as white as can be and he applied RD. i dont know why he got his acceptance today. but maybe they just sent out a small first wave or something idk.

^Huh? This is confusing. So they released all letters?

okay in that case they probably have released all letters :) Monday should be an interesting day

I don't think so. I'm pretty close, so if people in dallas got their letters yesterday I definitely should have gotten mine.

Were these kids considered for scholarships? Some scholarship notices were emailed yesterday.

sparkle: why would they release a small wave this late? I mean seriously, they may as well release them all at once really. I could understand small waves early march late feb, but not this late. That would be ridiculous. Oh well. Let's pray that I don't get rejected.

yeah at this point there would be no reason for them to release a small wave. at least I dont think lol. we'll find out tomorrow! good luck everybody

yea i think sparkle's friend may have applied for a scholarship or something because i live in kentucky and i have yet to get a single piece of mail from vandy and i am an urm

i have no idea what vandy's motive is in any of the decision mailings. i also do not believe that my friend applied for scholarships since he already knew he was going somewhere else back in december. he just kept his application active to see if he would get in. all i can hope for is that everyone gets a letter soon so we can all stop freaking out about it!

today is possibly the day! :X

sparkle: I didn't mean to to sound like I was freaking out on you, I was just confused and questioning why they would be doing that. Sorry.

sparkle why would your friend keep his app open "just to see if he would get in" taking away a spot for someone else who really wants to go?

janetlover: not only did he take away someone else's spot....according to Brad, he must have applied for scholarships if he was already notified.(money that could be going to others who truly need it)...The ED agreement explicitly states that all other apps are to be withdrawn....Many on CC either can't read or don't think the rules apply to them....too bad for everyone else.....Not sure who is at fault: the kids, the parents or the clueless guidance counselors.....
