Email

When do we get our uva email???? I really really want to change my facebook network to UVa soooooooon :)

Your UVa Email address is assigned subsequent to enrollment at the University.

If memory serves me correctly, you receive your UVa Email address after you have accepted your Offer of Admission and made your Initial Tuition Deposit. That’s in keeping with the standard college operating procedure of “you pay the dough and we provide the info”. It pretty much works that way from now to graduation.

Your Accepted Student Information Packet (i.e. Admission Letter) may provide additional information on this subject. It also contains the forms needed to accept your Offer of Admission.

My son turned his forms and money in when we visited UVa for Days on the Lawn.

You most likely have to send your deposit and information in first.

Send in your deposit form and a few days later, UVa should have you in the system.

From there, just go to this site to activate your account: Activate Your Student Computing Accounts

They're sending you an admittance package soon. All of your info for that kind of stuff will be in there. If you're 110% sure you're going to UVA, you might as well get a headstart and send in your info now.

Is there anyway to enroll/send the deposit online?

Not last year. It was surprisingly old fashioned. CVL mail takes forever too, so when sending in your response, I'd send it two day delivery, or overnight. Just send it in some way that you can have acknowledgment that it had indeed been received on UVA's end.

when do the students get to apply for housing?

I mailed the form/deposit on Monday, but I haven't received anything from UVa. Is this normal? I know I should be patient, but I just wanted to know if there's anyone out there who sent in their deposit, and heard back from UVa already...

I doubt you'd hear anything for a week or so. Remember, they're about to enroll thousands of new students. Give them a bit of time. When I transferred, they said a way to check that they had entered you into the system was to go to virginia.edu and on the main page, enter your name, and see if it comes up.

Also, don't worry about sending your acceptance one/two day. Just send it regular mail, but pay the 60 cents for delivery confirmation. That way you get a tracking number and you don't spend another $10 mailing everything.
