Emailed college admissions with question...still haven't replied/how long do they take to reply?

Hello,

On the 24th, I emailed a college I’m interested in with a question about how I should apply to a specific program. Their instructions on the website were not clear as to how to apply to the specific program. It told me to do something specific, but I did not have the option to do as they said with the common app. I decided to email the admissions office to ensure my application was going where it needed to go and I apply for the correct major for the program.

For those of you who have emailed admissions, how long did they take to respond? I’m hoping not long because the cutoff for the program is december 1.

Thanks.

The response time varies greatly. It depends on the school, the question, the time of year… If you have a question about a specific school then I would post this question in that school’s forum for a more specific answer.

On CC, we often point out that emailingis the preference of the younger generation. Why not call? Either the phone contact knows the answer (has gotten this question before) or can refer you to someone available.

Your AO may be in meetings or away. Or otherwise not able to compose a response. Or may have referred the question to someone else.

Many kids have the same problem when emailing a prof, who may prefer direct contact.

As @lookingforward suggested: call.
