Emailing a Doctor

I would really appreciate it if someone could read this and tell me the email is polite?

A brief of background/exposition on what the Doctor and I talked about before up to this point.

I got medical clearance for 2 weeks. I said I would like to shadow the doctor for the first week.

Then the doctor replied and said “sure. you will probably only see me on 7/? date and 7/?, but no big deal. email me when we get closer to the date.”

And this is what I am replaying to.

Thank you Dr. ||||, I will email you again two weeks before my observation.

I’m sorry I had not realized that you would only be available for two days between July ? to July ?. I wanted to observe you for at least 4 or 5 days.

If it is not inconvenient, I would also like you observe you from July ? to July ?? for a total of 4 to 5 days of shadowing.

I would caution to not be greedy. Shadowing adds to the doctor’s work.

It’s polite, but it sounds like he’s already volunteered his best option to you. Asking for more than he can clearly give is kinda ehhh

Thank you for the feedback. I already sent the email. I hope he doesn’t feel like I am pressuring him in anyway. I’ll email him again for what I need to do to be prepared for the two dates he gave. Then if he allows I’ll shadow for longer.

Thanks again.
