<p>I did my applications kind of late and didn't contact any professors. In my SoP I mentioned a professor or two that I'd like to work with that have been relevant to my research preferences. Should I send an email to them letting them know I applied to their school and had mentioned them in my SoP?</p>
<p>If it’s bio programs, then no, it’s far too late and also it doesn’t help much anyways.</p>

<p>NO, period. People have gotten in without contacting professors. The only real drawback of not contacting sooner is to see whether or not they’d be taken students so you wouldn’t waste your application fee.</p>
