I got accepted for an Embassy internship in DC. Anyone else go this route for this summer? Im a year or two away from applying to grad school but I'm thinking I should do International Relations for my masters since I'll be working within a bilateral capacity.

If you don’t mind saying, which embassy?

The Pakistani Embassy. I was thinking, since I had the credentials to get accepted for that maybe I should pursue a Masters program that is more in line with bilateral relations including international relations.

The Pakistani embassy has American college students as interns?

Interesting.

Yeah, it says that we work in a bilateral relationship to learn more about the political relationship between the two countries. I haven’t started yet but check out the internship page for the embassy. It will tell you everything you want to know.

Cool, thanks. Enjoy!

what does this even mean???

maybe Pakistan will teach you to publicly lobby against drone strikes (that they have obviously approved)?

Well I’m expecting the interns will work alongside officials concerning issues that have to do with US Pakistani political ties. Where we meet with both US and Pakistani individuals to learn more about the bilateral relationship. So perhaps learning about both sides of the issues. That IS what bilateral ism means.
