Embry-Riddle (FL)

What do you guys think of this school? I have been accepted to their Aerospace Engineering program. I am planning to do their 5 year bach/masters program in Aerospace Engineering. Is this a good path to take with this school?

Are any of you guys considering ERAU (FL)? Have you visited? What is the campus like?

Hey! I got accepted to their aerospace as well! In schools that do not offer higher than a masters in AE, they are number one. daytona campus, yeah? I really want to go there...it's just they're kinda expensive and from what I hear stingy with funds.

I don't know, I think that's a great program...the five year thing. I'd love to---I wonder what other people have to say about it.

OK, I went to like a church camp here called passport for like a week and we stayed on campus and had all our meetings on campus and stuff... the dorms we stayed in were super nasty and smelled like a locker room, they were an old, old like roadside Motel 8 with the outside rooms converted into a dorm, the bathrooms were like ancient, but it is 2 ppl to one bathroom and the racetrack is like right next door. Anyways, those are the freshmen dorms think, but the upperclassment ones are nice they looked new. The campus is rather large. We had to walk for about 10 minutes to get to the student center/dining hall, which is really nice and new. The other dorms were nice as well from the outside. Most of the academic buildings are pretty good and nice. One thing I liked is they have this huge outdoor swimming pool with like 5 high dives... pretty crazy. It is a big campus with a lot of open space tho.

Daytona is an interesting city to say the least and there are lots of tourists and hispanics. Culture is way diff. there from up north. It's a nice campus, from my experiences.

seuferk, where else did you apply? I think I will only go if I can get the price down to 10k/yr.

mycrazyhazeleyes, what was the weather like there? Were you always hot and sweating?

Where else can you go to college and learn how to fly an airplane? How cool is that?!

weenie: haha i know! I'm stoked about it.
lil_killer129: I've also gotten into rose-hulman institute of technology, but I've sent in my apps for GA tech and ncsu (i'm a nc resident). I'm sending off VT this week, and I've gotta get the common app done for duke(i know that their engineering isn't that great) and carnegie mellon(robotics?). Also MIT and UVA. I think that's all of them....lol.
Yeah, like, I really, really want to go to ERAU, but if I can't get it down to 10ish I really doubt I'll be going there either.

weenie: I doubt I will be flying anyway...

I also applied to Purdue, Colorado at Boulder, VT, SUNY-Buffalo, and PSU. I think I have a really good chance at Purdue.

Is Purdue a lot cheaper? At any rate you must be glad to have at least one acceptance, now you don't have to worry about "not getting in anywhere".

Unfortunately Purdue costs ~22k/yr for OOS, while ERAU costs ~25k/yr or IS/OOS. I think I would rather go to Purdue. Hopefully I can get that price down to 15k/yr.

Yes. I am very glad to have at least one acceptance under my belt. ERAU requires two recommendation. They accepted me with having sent one. So that was pretty awesome!

Don't forget to add in room & board for Purdue as well.
