I’m an international asking for aid, have lots of ecs and awards/leadership roles, and I’m currently working on some pretty solid essays. sat1= 2370, AP= 4x5 (self study)
HOWEVER my sat 2 scores are the problem!!! I have a 780-bio. but because of my country’s exams and lack of time to study I got my lit sat =750
How much will this compromise my app, especially as I scored 99% on Literature CIE AS (a levels) and put down english as one of my maybe majors?? D:
Im thinking of taking sat math 2 in Jan and try to get a 800 or 780. What actions can i take from now on to make my app better?
Do you realize that apparently SAT 2 Lit is the hardest one to get a high score in? You have no emergency. You will get big fat acceptance letters, probably. My D got 750 in lit and was over the moon. Extremely difficult to score that high on this test.
@Lindagaf do the admissions people really take into account percentiles? because all I’ve heard is that they just take the scores so a 800 math 2, at 85% would be seen better than my lit score (which in think is about 92%). thank you!
In plain English…DONT TAKE ANY MORE TESTS! Your scores are great. There is no emergency. Unless you are applying to MIT and Stanford, or another college that requires three SAT 2 subject tests, you are fine with two tests. Are you planning on majoring in STEM? Then you can consider Math 2. Otherwise, no need.
@Lindagaf I’m thinking of majoring in economics or english (as said in my description, which is why i’m a bit ambivalent about this score). and also subject test at Stanford are optional (luckily!) thank you for your comment!
There’s no emergency here. Your scores are great. It would be a huge mistake to decline to send the Lit score. Take Math 2 if you want, and sent it too, but realize that your scores will help, not hurt, your application…
Lol you’re the reason why people call college confidential a website for snotty people. Might as well give up on college since you got a near perfect SAT II score.
@DaedricSaiyan don’t say stuff like that. heaps of perfect 800s don’t get in and as an international, with shitty essays i have literally no chance-that is the reality-im not going to con myself into thinking i can HYP
@Marcelleparcelle ok, but I don’t see how that sabotages your application. It’s just a fact that 700+ SATs don’t guarantee admission. It’s not a fact that 700+ SATs absolutely sabotage your chances of getting into a top college.
