"Emerging Adulthood": a new life phase

<p>Below is a link to today's Boston Globe "Voices" entry entitled "Generation in Flux," about Jeffrey Jensen Arnett's concept (subject of a 2004 book and many speaking engagements) of a "new phase of life somewhere in between adolescence and adulthood, a period of exploration and experimentation that can last well into the late 20's," and that delays such markers of maturity as a "real" job and marriage. </p>

<p>Thought this might be relevant to some of the threads on here, particularly those by parents expressing some frustration or mystification about their offspring...</p>
