Emerson - Writing, Lit, and Publishing Major

Does anybody know anything about the Writing, Literature, and Publishing major at Emerson? I looked it up online and they don't have much info on the website. It seems like exactly what I want to major in at college, but if I'm going to make the trip to Boston (about 8 hours away) I want to know a little bit more about the program itself. Can anyone help me out?

My daughter and I were just looking at Emerson’s writing…major. if you look at the list of courses you get a pretty good idea of what the major is about. I might add, that my son goes to Emerson and really loves it. It’s in a wonderful part of Boston, dorms are gorgeous, and classes really interesting. hope that helps. Where else have you seen publishing majors?

I actually haven’t seen publishing majors anywhere else so that’s what initially attracted me to it. I’ve typically seen publishing in communications departments - but I’m interested in literature and writing as well, so if I was going to major in publishing I’d rather it be in the same major with literature and writing rather than having to double major in a communications department and an arts/sciences department. How’s the campus?

My son loves it as do I. It’s urban, like NYU - not really a campus. The buildings are all clustered around a corner of Boston Common - Boylston and Tremont. The buildings are beatiful, and in winter play in the snow in Boston Common. they have a gorgeous theatre. You can walk down to nice shops on Newberry St. and take transit all over the place. It depends if you like city life. Classes are small. I am totally impressed!
