Hi there...I'm really interested in Emerson, and I think I have a real chance of getting in. My major passion is creative writing (like, ever since I was kid) and I've heard they have a good program, but it almost seems like it's more focused on journalism which I'm not so big on. Can anyone give some info on, specifically, their creative writing opportunities? I'd reaaaally appreciate it.

I was thinking the same thing. Journalism was going to be my major but I'm not as strong in it as I'd like to be. Plus Emerson always pops up on my college searches and I love creative writing.

Emerson is known for journalism/communication majors, I think that's why they would emphasize so much on the journalims aspect of creative writing. There are a ton of schools throughout the United States who aren't like Emerson, I don't understand why you would have such difficulty finding a school that offered your major, yet wasn't so specific or influences by journalism. A lot of other liberal art colleges offer creative writing(it's not a unique major in the sense that it's hard to find)

Hollins is well-known for their creative writing program.
