Hi guys, I intend to apply to OSU after the common app opens on August 1st, and I would also like to apply to the eminence fellows. I’m fairly confident about my stats (SAT 2240, ACT 34, 15 APs by the time I graduate, 4 SAT IIs) and extracurricular activities (BETA president, over 500 volunteer hours).
To those of you who have been named Eminence fellows in the past, can any of you give me an idea about the general direction of the essay? I have seen the prompt but I don’t really understand what its asking. Am I supposed to write about how I will use the college’s specific resources to better myself? Any help will be appreciated. 
I’m an Eminence Fellow, and hopefully I can help you out a little here. In my essay, I first gave a general overview of my career goals and then described my goals for community service. I explained how I thought OSU and Eminence Fellows would help me obtain the best education possible while also making me a better citizen through service and community. I spent a few sentences on the resources available through OSU and Eminence, but spent most of my time describing how being a Fellow would help me grow and positively affect the lives of others. I also listed a couple of possible service projects I’d like to be part of, since each class of Fellows develops one big, long-term service project that they work on together for four years.
It’s a somewhat strange prompt, but it’s pretty open-ended, so feel free to play around with it in order to best express your goals and ideas. I hope this helps! Good luck
