I'm an American (by birth/rearing), but my parents are Indian.

Right-oh! Then I suppose you have little in common with the desi men in Kal Ho Naa Ho.
I'm all about bizarroid South-Asian aesthetic sensibility...and to my great chagrin, no-one dances, sings and hums for you in crude, frozen Europe.

Hope to see you at Yale by some miracle!

Thankfully, I have absolutely nothing in common with them, save the R1 haplogroup(...and I do believe it's the beta analog of it..).

Hindi movies have always ****ed me off. I suspect it's got something to do with the broadway style elaborate non sequitur dance routines.

I mean....How do you expect me to suspend my disbelief when in a flash, you've persuaded the better part of several different cities to join you in perfectly synchronized dance? Aaaand you can teleport to scenic places mid dance?

bwah?

There's only one good Indian movie, and it's Sholay.

(You can watch it on youtube!)

If we do both get to Yale, I'll have to teach you how to properly loath modern Indian media.

haha i agree. The last one I actually liked was khabhi kushi kabhi gham (sp? im not really very brown...). after that i didnt watch for years, until last year? my friend made me watch that idiot movie ta ra rum pum. i swear im never watching one again. or not for a long time....

but slumdog millionaire, which i guess isnt really an indian movie... WAS AMAZING

Good lord, I didn't know so many people watched Hindi movies.

I'm going to feel oodles (Woah.....the little red squiggly telling me a word isn't real/spelled correctly didn't show for oodles......Oodles are real? What the hell are they?) more self conscious now.

Did I mention I don't like Indian movies?

De gustibus non disputandum est - To each his own!
I grew up with desi films and I love them. It's morale-boosting and gives people a reason to dance at single-sex birthday parties in India/Pak.

They allow dancing in Pakistan? lol, jk.

Hahahaha! You'd be surprised! I'll teach you some moves sometime.

LOL....Hermione is probably going b/c she knows that Yale is the closest thing to Hogwarts on this Earth.

Actually, Cambridge is. It was established 500 years earlier than Yale and inspired the college housing system in Yale in the first place ( I think).

I thought it was Oxford....1096, right?

we should change the name of this thread from "emma watson might go to yale" to "emma watson must go to yale."

Yes, yes indeed.

Man...I wonder if I could get a job as a Math(s, lololol) tutor if not a TA.....

lmao. oh man.

Seriously though, HOW awesome a possibility is it that one could not only go to Yale.......But also help Emma Watson with her Maths.....?!

America, I don't know what I did for you.....but I owe you one.

Heh heh heh. Ten bucks she goes to Cambridge. I still don't understand all the hype, though. She has 'annoying, squeaky, posh-face' cauterized onto her forehead. There are prettier British actresses out there. Keira Knightley, for example, is far more charming (although she's done with uni now).

Keira Knightly, Lily Pearson (from Skins - LURV IT!), Natalie Portman, and Emma Watson are my favorite foreign actresses.

Also...Keira Knightly and Natalie Portman have the same, 'wide head, large mouth' thing going on.

Actually their current divergent hair styles hides their very close physical resemblance. Knightly doubled for Portman in Phantom Menace, and even their own mothers commented on how close in appearance they were.

yea they do look a little like each other but knightly is pretty fine.
