If you didn’t send an LOCI you would be assumed not interested. They want those who want to be there.
Your test scores are immaterial. They didn’t deny you. So you had a chance. But no more.

I saw a lot of people got in without LOCI tho? I accepted the waitlist offer
Define a lot.
In theory, asking to be on the wait list is their version of the LOCI - so I’ll agree that you aren’t eliminated.
I assumed you didn’t “accept” the offer.
I don’t think a lot got in - because I don’t think a lot will get in.
i got off the waitlist today — econ! they sent an email asking me to respond super quickly.
My D got off the WL today. Email. One day to respond.
What’s her now top choice - hope she loves it !!! Or Emory.
She is committed to UNC, and excited about it. But this certainly gives her something to think about. They give 24 hours to express interest and then 7 days to decide, which is a reasonable amount of time. Very different schools. I’m happy she has the choice. We shall see.
Can’t go wrong - bigger vs. smaller, big sports vs. not. Chapel Hill a more lively area even though Emory is within the ATL city limits.
The good news - heads she wins. Tails she wins.
Good luck.
After a few days of contemplation, D decided to stick with UNC and declined her Emory offer. Maybe her decision would have been different if it was RD, but at this point, she is really excited about her decision. Good luck all.

Actually I spoke with Admissions/FinAid today and regardless of where you start the tuition cost is the same - whether your first two years are at Oxford or ATL campus. I think they changed it recently (because I mentioned to her another parent had spoken about a cost difference) but supposedly have also upped some of the programming for Oxford (the lady wasn’t familiar with what exactly). That being said our son is really close to making his final decision and it’s looking like Emory/Oxford College is coming out the favorite! (even day he gets more excited about on-campus Ox community)
Just posting in case anyone (like me!) is looking for insight off old threads!
