Emory Admissions Regular Decision Fall 2022

Emailed Emory and they said they currently have over 9000 people on the waitlist and that it’s unlikely that they’ll be using the waitlist this year. Kind of surprised me as I thought it would be the opposite since they admitted fewer people this year.

Don’t forget, and I don’t know about Emory per se, but most schools are increasing their ED counts - some over half - so they have a lot less seats to worry about.

Last year they offered spots to 6539 (not sure if that’s one or both campuses). 3883 accepted a spot. 21 were offered admission.

So time to move on - fall in love with your top admit and have a great four years!!

Did Emory actually accept 21 people off of waitlist last year? Because I thought they didn’t accept anyone from the waitlist for the class of 2025… Could I ask where you got the numbers?

Common Data Set section C2.

Doesn’t mean 21 enrolled. Means they admitted 21.

I would say that;s like admitting zero…21 of 3883 that accepted a spot on the wait list.

Thank you for this! I also called the office and they told me that there’s 9000 on the waitlist… I don’t know if that’s the total number of waitlists they sent out or those accepted a spot, but the fact that there were very very few admitted makes me feel a bit better!

Why would you feel better about them accepting less students from the waiting list? I’m confused?

Because 21 is better than zero… I wasn’t saying that it’s better to admit less from the waitlist. Myself is on waitlist and I was loosing hope after seeing that there were 9000 given waitlist this year.

My son got accepted to Oxford. Can anyone provide us with any information regarding this school ? We know that it is small and 38miles from Emory.

Oh okay good luck. I thought the 9000 was how many were offered a place. Usually only 3-4000 accept the Waitlist offer. But good luck to you.

My daughter, who had been waitlisted, just received an email that she was offered a spot for 2026. She is from New England and applied as an English major.

Not sure if she will accept. She started to fall in love with the school where she put a deposit.

If you don’t mind sharing, how long do they give you to decide?

I also got off the waitlist!! They send an email asking you to confirm that you will enroll and then give the official letter in 1-2 days on the portal. Then you have 7 days to confirm

That’s good and frankly how it should be in the sense it shows that the student handled it properly…ie not falling in love.

Good for them. What’s #2?

I didn’t get off the waitlist today :sob:. I haven’t sent a LOCI yet due to AP exams and my SAT was only a pathetic 1420. I don’t have much of a chance do I since i’m assuming most people who were gonna get off the waitlist was notified today?
