Emory was my top choice but i really think it’s a waste of energy to hope and pray next to your phone. I’m going to Bucknell and I’m happy even though i totally could have gotten into a better school. I made the mistake of applying to too many target schools. Oh well. SUCKS FOR EMORY they really missed out.

Aeriee, I agree that Emory was ALWAYS my top choice. But I think there really isn’t much chance at this point…oh well.

To anyone still anxiously awaiting: I was in your position a month ago. I got the call saying i was in, but the FA office wasn’t too accommodating and i ended up declining. The point is, if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. Worrying about it won’t do you any good, at all. Just plan on going to your 2nd choice, and if emory calls then take it as an unexpected surprise. If not, you’ll be perfectly happy wherever you go. And know that even if they do make the call, you might not be able to or want to go anymore. Summary: Don’t worry, and enjoy your last few days/weeks of HS.

thanks IBathlete.

Does anyone know how to make sure if one is taken off or not. Unlike all other schools I applied, say UCLA, Emory does not have a logon page to see your admission status or is it just I being too stupid to find out? Do they notify you only if it is a good news, bad news or both?

I was wondering the same. I’m seriously checking my email like every hour for an email from Emory. Still a little sad though. =[

I actually got off the waitlist for Emory! They called me at around 7PM on May 9th, but I didn’t get to pick up, so I called them back the next day. An admissions counselor called me directly and asked me if I was still interested in the school. Of course, I said yes, and he said he can only take a few off of the waitlist and I got called out to be one of them!!! It was really an exciting day. I did not see that coming AT ALL.

I guess this is me boasting a little, but moreso to tell you guys that it is indeed possible to get taken off the waitlist… o_o

Yes. But the only thing is that it’s already June.
It usually ends now

Yeah… Its like over now I think.

Shouldn’t they have notified us that it’s over? I kind of waited myself stupid for them to give me good news.

let’s hope for the best, Dean Jordan in his email to us said “we are trying to conclude the waitlist by June 1st”.

Not done yet. Few weeks left guys.

bestmemories, how do you know?

Today I got an email back from Maddie Monahan: “No updates from the last time we corresponded. We are still in the process of reviewing applicants on our waitlist.” The wait is killing me!

^^^ as far as I know, the process has been slowing down but is not done yet. I just don’t know when they are done though.
By now, they should have less students on the WL, should they?

btw, there are only 1279 people on Class of '15 Emory FB page.
Is there still hope?

I finally got an email from my counselor

glad to hear, bestmemories

I am kinda numb with all the waiting now …

I keep getting those automatic emails from financial aid about missing documents! So depressing every time I see the word ‘Emory’ :(

I reallyyy want to go to Emory! I’m spending lots of money on flight tickets and orientation deposits to my state school, but Emory is always at the back of my mind. Ohhh all the money I have to sacrifice if I got into Emory, but it would be so worth it!!

my counselor is constantly out-of-office. Not a good sign.
