Your writing score is pretty low by Emory Scholar standards. Your other scores are fine though, so it's hard to say how much this will affect you. Your EC's could also be better. They're pretty boring and don't make you stand out from the applicant pool. I went to the Finalists weekend, and the selection process up to that point seemed very numbers driven. Everyone except URMs had 2250+ on the SAT, and more than a few had 2400. We did group interviews, and each interviewer had a sheet for note taking which had our SAT and GPA on it. The interviews were a lot of fun--most of the interviewers were professors, and they encouraged us to disagree with one another. I ended up getting the full ride, but turned it down for another school that was stronger in my major. If you have any other questions about the process, I'll try my best to answer them.

Another random piece of info: many of the Emory scholar finalists get into Ivy league schools. If you even look at their facebook group the ones who turned down Emory went on to Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, etc. I know one who turned down Harvard to come here.

Weasel8488,
i'm so curious about the interview process for this scholarship . . . what do you think they look for once you get to the weekend- what type of EC do they like, attitude at interview, etc.? and were there not really any sub-2250 scores (mine is 2230- 800 CR, 720 Math, 710 Wrting?)
