Emory Scholars: Post stats...

It would be very helpful for future Emory Scholar hopefuls if those who were name semifinalists would post their basic stats (gpa, Sat/Act's), the state where they are from and whether they applied to Emory ED1, ED2 or RD. Thank you. (and congratulations!!!)

Semifinalist.
GPA W: 4.78
GPA UW: 4.0
SAT: 2300 (only one sitting)
ACT: N/A
State: Arizona
Applied: Regular Decision

Semifinalist
GPA UW: 4.0
SAT: 2340 (one sitting)
State: Ga
Applied: RD

Wow, great stats!

Semifinalist
GPA UW: 4.0 (no weighted)
ACT: 36 (one sitting)
SAT: 2340 (one sitting)
State: TN
Applied: RD

Semifinalist.
GPA W: 4.31 (doesn’t mean anything, schools weight differently)
GPA UW: 3.9
SAT: 2350 (single test), 2370 (superscore)
ACT: 35
State: Louisiana
Applied: Regular Decision (Nov. 15, lol)

Semifinalist
GPA W: 4.70
GPA UW: 3.87
SAT: 2280 superscore
ACT: 34
State: MD
Applied: RD (barely made the deadline haha)

Semifinalist
GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 5.0
SAT: 2250
ACT: -
State: GA
Applied: RD (still had stuff initiated yesterday, haha)

Note: I know of a few who got semi’s with mid 2000s, and superscore/one-sitting doesn’t matter-unless you’ve taken the test 3 times or more.

^I wouldn’t be nearly as impressed by a 23xx superscore as by a one sitting. Neither would adcoms, regardless of what they say to the public. They’re people, too.

Yeah. I know a kid who bragged about his 2400 superscore, but his highest single sitting was like a 2140.

Semifinalist
GPA W: 4.1
GPA UW: 4.0
SAT: 2270 (took test twice, superscore)
State: KY
Applied: RD

Along with your stats, specify your exact rank or % in class of XXX

Son is semifinalist
GPA n/a
SAT 2240 (one sitting)
US citizen living in Singapore
Applied RD
National Merit Semifinalist

Fingers crossed. He loved Emory when he visited. Emory Scholar program looks fantastic, and the scholarship money would make a huge difference. Does anyone know the answer to this question: if he gets both National Merit Finalist and merit money from Emory, will Emory subtract Nat. Merit money from the merit money they offer?

Semifinalist.
GPA W: 4.31 (doesn’t mean anything, schools weight differently)
GPA UW: 3.9
Class rank: Top 10, probably 6-9 out of 120.
SAT: 2350 (single test), 2370 (superscore)
ACT: 35
State: Louisiana
Applied: Regular Decision (Nov. 15, lol)

I only had 1 SAT score and 1 ACT score, but I don’t regret not retaking anything. Many people find it more impressive to have a solid single-sitting score than to have a similar score that’s mix-matched across the board.

Semifinalist

UW GPA: 4.00
Class rank: Val
SAT: 2260
ACT: 34

RD

I hope more emory scholar semifinalists will fill in this information as it is helpful both for future scholar hopefuls as well as for those who applied for the scholarship but did not make it through. Please keep posting your stats!!!

EC’s: some clubs (I consider myself passionate/involved in all of them, but especially HOSA), a few leadership positions, volunteering (library, hospital, church, through clubs), and I’m doing research throughout senior year (although this isn’t really an extracurricular, I still think it’s notable).
