Can someone clarify if three recommendations are needed or just two? I know ther is a scholar recommendation but is that in addition to one, or two others?

For students applying to ESP, you are required to submit a minimum of two recommendations (including the counselor rec).

was everyone here nominated by their counselor/school as one of the four students? for our school anyone who wanted to apply had to turn in an essay and some committee is going over them and selecting four people... they still haven't told us who... ._.

I was nominated during the middle of September. If you still haven't been nominated, you should go talk to your GC because the deadline is Nov. 1 and you will want plenty of time to work on your essay.

yay, school finally nominated, and I'm in, but they still haven't given us much information =T do you have to get the rec for emory scholars from someone other than those who did your regular recs?

let me get this straight. if you're a semi, you're not guaranteed anythign. If you're a finalist, you're guaranteed at least 2/3 and up to full. right?

They don't tell you that you're guaranteed a scholarship if you're a finalist, but everyone at finalists weekend my year was offered (I think) either full tuition or a full ride. Maybe a couple of people were offered 2/3, but I thought that all finalists that particular year had been given full tuition. It might depend on how big the finalists crowd is, though.

no, they changed it started last year such that if you're a semi, you ARE guaranteed at least 10, and if you're a finalist, i believe everyone gets at least full tuition. if not full, then most DEFINITELY 2/3. trust me, if you're a finalist you're getting a LOT of money

These scholarships are certainly very effective marketing tools for Emory in recruiting superstar students. One of the top students in my daughter's class chose Emory over Harvard. She has been happy with her choice.
