I hadn't heard about the Emory Scholars program until attending a tour session recently, but it seems like something I would be a candidate. The thing is ,though, I'm not sure my school has ever sent a grad to Emory. Will they still mail my school the nomination forms? Seeing as they mail them in October and the deadline is Nov. 1st it doesn't seem like there is much time if something goes wrong with that.

Contact following person, and ask her to be certain to send ESP info to your school's guidance counseling department, providing a specific person's name, i.e., your GC. It's possible that they already have your HS on their list, but it won't hurt to check. Then in September, when you return to school, contact your GC to alert him/her to your interest in being a nominee from your HS for ESP.

We were in a similar situation last year. D contacted G counselor in Sept to make sure they got the materials, which they did. I don't think D's HS has sent anyone to Emory in recent years -- she will be starting in a couple of weeks as a scholar. Good luck to you.

do you guys know if Emory Scholars is limited to the CAS? What if you go to goizueta after 2 years?.

It is not limited to CAS, it's University-wide.

does anyone know when applications for ESP are available online?

Floridastudent,

ESP applications are not available online. A student must be nominated by his/her high school. In past years, nominations are limited to 4 students per high school.

oh thanks norcaldad =)

I believe if you create a contact with Emory as an interested student then your school might get the ESP paperwork. I'm not sure, my guidance counseor might have contacted them on my behalf, I don't think she did. I made it to the semi-finalist cut and Emory did offer me a 10K Liberal Arts scholarship. Later when my financial aid package arrived I found out that they included another 5K grant.

Emory was pretty nice too me. I chose not to attend but Emory made my decision very hard. I'm from the northeast so I finally chose NYU's Stern over Emory Goizueta.

Good Luck.
