I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly, but chance a poor Asian boy? About to be a senior in a pretty competitive high school. Can't discern my rank, but I'm certain I'm top 50% :D:D

Applying Early Decision I to Emory and regular to upper UC schools.

Race: Asian American
Location: Southern California
GPA (my downfall): Weighted-3.63
Unweighted-3.37

SAT: 2160
Math-720
Reading-680
Writing-760

SAT IIs:
Math II-730
US History-720
Korean-750

ACT: Have not taken yet. Hoping for a 32+

8 APs next year and a pretty rigorous course, but a couple C's that definitely bring me down. My transcript shows hovering grade levels that suddenly shoot up in junior year, but I'm not sure if that counts as overall improvement. School is public. Like I said, I'm Asian and I live in southern California.

EC:
-6 years orchestra
-Feeding homeless with church
-Mission trip to Korea where I taught middle school girls out in the country how to speak English.
-2 years ASB; second year in a high position
-Tae-Kwon-Do for 7 years
-Leading position at my church
-100-200 volunteer hours
-Kiwins for two years
-Liberty in North Korea club for two years
-Link Crew, which is like upperclassmen being older siblings to freshman, for 1 year
-I write stories for the school newspaper as a guest writer and I've been featured in a few online magazines

So that's all! Emory really is the number one school for me as an aspiring writer. As for an essay, I'm a pretty decent writer, and I think I have a few fun facts about myself to dazzle them with. With all this said, chance?
