I plan on getting my JD and MBA someday hopefully going into corporate law or finance.
But for undergraduate I’m applying to Emory, NYU, and California-Berkeley. I’ll major in finance and some sort of general business. Both NYU and Berkeley have top 5 ranked schools for finance (U.S. News & World Report) and Businessweek ranks Emory #5 business school.

Will an Emory degree in Finance and General Business or Business Management land me as high paying of a job out of college as would a degree from NYU or Berkeley?

Or is there any other recommended course I take if I want to persue a joint MBA and JD for corporate law or finance?
-I would have 75k-100k debt with an undergraduate degree from Emory and 0k debt by attending Georgia Tech or Univ. of Georgia

All advice is welcome! Thanks a lot

I'm a Finance major too, so that was a question I was always wondering about. On the Business Week website it states that median starting salary for Emory business school graduates is $55,000. That's a pretty nice salary for somebody coming straight out of college in my opinion. After a couple years you should get some raises and then you'll have a good experience to apply to the top Graduate Business Programs. Berkeley median starting salary is $57,000 and is $60,000. They all have very strong finance programs. 75k-100k is a lot of debt and if you aren't going to be in debt out of Georgia Tech of Univ. of Georgia it might make sense to attend there. You also have to think about your personal finance situation and decide what fits you best. I'm also going to apply to Emory for the Spring term and see what happens. Good Luck!

Since you don't enter the b-school at Emory till your junior year It may be smart to do your first 2 years at Georgia Tech then transfer to Emory. I say gerogia tech over UGA cause Emory has connections with georgia tech so your credits should transfer easier than maybe with uga. Another option is if you get accepted into Emory is to defer your enrollment for a year and go to georgia tech for your freshman year and then continue at emory. with this option you won't have to worry about any transfer application
