Emory University ED2 2015

did any one call them to find out the decision time?

Good Luck to all the ED2 applicants, I know a vast majority of the students from the ED1 forum were accepted. Hopefully same will happen here. :)

So i got a letter from Emory in the mail today, and it was talking about the ED agreement, and what ED meant. the weird thing is that it was dated late January! Anyone else get this letter today?

Oh and i told you guys decisions weren’t coming out today! haha jk.

IBathlete don’t sweat it I just got that in the mail last friday. Mine was dated January 19th and discussed what an ED agreement is and what to do if you are accepted.
I guess it just got mixed up in the fine postal service industry of the United States.

Yeah I got that letter today too :stuck_out_tongue: dated january 28th.
received a similar letter a couple weeks ago but this one also said my application was complete.

13 more hours!!!

Oh ok cool. Yea mine was dated Jan 29th also. Plus i just got a call from emory like 5 mins ago with a lady talking about financial aid, and that i had to get my 2010 tax returns in by March 1st (which is weird cause taxes aren’t due until april). So did anyone get the call too lol?

i just checked opus (for the 92304582394 time today) and all of my financial aid stuff on the “to do list” JUST came up. did those things come up today for you guys too? or were they already up on your to do list?

guys, I’m dying here.
procrastinating EVERYTHING.

I also got the ED agreement thing that was dated weirdly. That probably has to do with the fact that ATL was shutdown big time because of snow for a bit.

I also got a call today from Emory asking about my financial aid info. That seems like a good sign, as they obviously have made their decisions already and they wouldn’t need to ask me for financial aid info if I wasn’t going to be accepted. But that’s just hopeful inference.

Shock, i thought the same thing when i heard the call! Though i really doubt i’m gonna be accepted, so that’s weird… But yea maybe the calls were delayed just like the letters were? I mean it’s a possibility (playing the devil’s advocate). But it would be great if ppl could say if they did or did not receive the call today (or earlier). That way we can have some fun inferring whether it means something or not lol.

The calls are only if you said you were planning on needing financial aid, right?

I’m pretty sure, yea. I mean now that i think about it, are the office of admission and financial aid even connected? MEaning does the financial aid office know my stats? If not, then the call has absolutely no bearing on acceptance.

Ahh. It probably is connected. I did not get a call and Emory was a big reach for me.

Emory says the financial aid department and the admission department are not connected at all which I find it hard to believe.
Luckily I did not ask for financial aid. But since I’m an International student, asking for it would mean being rejected. Oh well. That’s what my college counselor said…

I don’t think it’s connected, because I realized the financial aid deadline is the same for everyone, irrespective of when you applied.

uhh shock, deadlines def differ if you’re ED1, 2 or RD.

oh and nocrackup, it’s def a huge reach for me too, so i wouldn’t worry about it too much.

International students have to send a financial certificate form. AKA proof that we have money in our bank, enough to afford the 4 years at Emory. So I guess it is only need blind for US citizens.
Many of the people I know were not able to go last year because of its price…which is …seriously not great.

anyway… Let’s all make it ! ( knock on wood again and again )

well, I guess nvm about my theory then.

Actually double nvm. Theory was correct. They called about federal tax returns, which are the same for RD, EDI and EDII.
