Which school would be a better choice for Creative Writing. I am interested in looking at program, professors, internships, career springboard etc.. Thanks.

… bump …

Assuming costs are equal, Emory. It’s creative writing program is extremely strong and the average Emory student is far more academically accomplished than the average Chapman student.

Has anyone experienced Chapman’s creative writing program? What are the pros and cons?

I’d post that on the Chapman board, but honestly, Emory is a better school overall than Chapman, film program not withstanding. It simply has more resources, more diversity, and is trying to make its creative writing program one of best in the nation. Emory hosts frequent art networking events and is one of the two major schools in Atlanta, one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US. English classes are capped at 12 people, which ensures personal attention, and the creative writing professors are evidently quite demanding (I’ve spoken with an Oxford continuee creative writing major about the subject).

Just remember that most published authors didn’t study creative writing. According to my mother, a very well published author, it’s mostly revision after revision and having the tenacity to conduct your own networking, to go to writing events, etc.
