I just toured Emory University today and I loved the school. However, I am debating on whether or not to apply to Emory early decision I or II. I am undecided on my major, but I know I want to go into the business field or premed/dental field (ideally both which is why Emory appealed to me). I know I can double major at Emory and be prepared for med/dental school, but I think I also want to do something with investment banking instead, which is why NYU Stern appeals to me. I don’t know how to approach this and it is causing unnecessary stress. I would appreciate outside feedback.
@emorynavy can help explain the Emory experience.
NYU is really good too. But it’s not better and very urban compared to a classic bucolic campus like Emory. And if you like the school that much go for it!
Most ED rounds help you if you are a great candidate- it does depend on a lot of factors and what they want at given time.
Not sure what a boost it is there but as I mentioned, Emorynavy knows the school inside and out.
My guess is to de-stress and prepare yourself for the Emory ed process.
I’m a current student at Emory. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
@jakeosh
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay at Emory, the campus is indeed beautiful this time of year. NYU Stern is very large top NY banks won’t take all of the Stern students, so what happens to the bottom half of the class. Goizueta, on the other hand, is smaller thus more attention is given to students which includes career services. Also, premed and bio at Emory are better, so there isn’t much argument needed there. However both schools have ED1&2, thus you can choose which is your first and second choice.
Is business is truly your first choice, I would go with NYU.
Looking at your profile, all of these schools are large High reaches for you.
