Any thoughts/opinions for DS? Fortunately, financial is not an issue. DS did not get into ivies or duke.....we all thought he would get in....just such a tough, competitive year.

Thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

What great choices! I don't think your son can go wrong.

Has he visited all of the schools? He might want to make his decision based on his subjective impression of the campuses and the surrounding communities.

What is your son looking for in terms of academics and experience? He has some great choices.

Thank you....we're all starting to cheer up about that. S had great creds, we were all caught off guard by his not getting in first choice to Penn and to Duke. However, we're very aware that he has great choices. He's undecided on his educational pursuits, still wants to pursue a broad group of studies for the next couple of years and then narrow down to his path.

We have visited Emory, not the others. We did a ton of visiting and figured that we'd run around now if he didn't get into first choices. We're going to zoom off to the schools starting Wednesday and figure it from there.

Oh, we live in "great white north" so the warm weather of Emory is very appealing. Of course, why should we make it easy on ourselves because school spirit is also important....that would bring him back to the north. We're probably the most unfamiliar with wustl, but we keep hearing wonderful things about it. The tough part for us that it's the only one of the four that requires change of planes (of course, that's no reason to negate it). Anyway, it's a great predicament and we are grateful about it.

Wait until you see Michigan and Northwestern, and then re-evaluate. I think that will make his preference much clearer. I would choose Northwestern, I think, but I'm also not your son!
