Emotional Support Dog?

Does anyone have insight into the process of bringing an emotional support dog to campus as an entering Freshman? Are they allowed for freshman (obviously with the correct documentation)? Do people who have an emotional support dog live in a certain dorm? Single room? Also wondering if there are a lot of emotional support animals on campus and how they are viewed. Thank you!

I would start off the process by contacting the Office of Disabilities as well as the Office of.Residential Life at your college. They should know the rule, procedures, required documentation etc.

My D knew one person at college with an emotional support dog and it was fine. My D enjoyed having the dog around. Of course you need to be respectful of the fact that 1) having a dog would be a huge responsibility for you and 2) some people may not want to be around a dog for reasons such as allergies, fears etc. Be sure having a dog will create more support than stress for you.
