I was just wondering about this - Reed looks extraordinarily appealing to me, and my SAT scores are quite good, based on the mean scores the Reed website provides. However, my 3.0 GPA falls well short of the mean 3.8 that Reed students apparently have. Based on your experiences, do you think someone with a 3.0 (and a 2190 SAT, for comparison's sake) has a shot at getting in?

Thanks.

Reed is known for taking chances on applicants who show the potential to succeed but may have not done fantastically in school. If you present them with a good case (good essay, good recommendations, etc.), they might be more forgiving of your GPA. So yes, you have a good shot at getting in.

reed is one of those colleges which looks beyond your grades...so i think u do stand a good chance.
