Employment for History Majors

Hi,

I am a history major and was wondering about future employment with my BA in history. It think the website says it is great prep for business and law, and was wondering what kind of careers people can get with a BA in history from UCLA.
I am positive I want to go into business, and plan on getting an MBA in the future.

Well, here's what I found just by making a google search: http://www.uwrf.edu/history/careers.html

If this doesn't help you enough, you can always find contact information at http://www.history.ucla.edu

If you don't get the information you need from whomever you choose to email, you can ask to be forwarded to another person who might better assist you. That, and you can haunt the 6th floor of Bunche Hall for advice.

history is fine for anything. its the grad degree that counts.

Just supplement it with some quantitative coursework. I highly recommend at least a few quarters of econ and maybe some stats, finance, accounting, and econometrics.

Thanks for all the responses its been a lot of help,

one more question, do I file for an emphasis with a BA in history, or is it a general degree? If I could I was thinking about doing like a history of business or entrepreneurship and minoring in accounting or communications.

If I supplement my history degree with quantitative work will it show up anywhere, or is it more personal prep for the MBA? I already took some business, econ, and stat classes.

thanks!

Quantitative work is important in almost everything, so I think you'll do great with what you have under your belt.
