Hello,

I cannot wait to go to USC!! i really love their international relations program and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the job placement of their IR department. I was also considering pursuing a double major of IR/econ or IR/minor in management consulting

much thanks!

You should definitely do a double major; one of those degrees will really make an IR program of study more attractive in the job market. There’s not much a plain ol’ IR degree will get you.

I guess this all depends on what you hope to do with an IR degree in the first place…?

The IR major isn’t particularly large (# of classes wise) so you will have plenty of room to pursue a major or minor and I would definitely recommend doing so.

D is an IR major (another school) but has been able to piggyback two minors onto it, one being Chinese which has already created a number of contacts for her as a Jr. Take a look at languages as possibilities. Econ is a great idea too.

already fluent in 2 dialects of chinese! (part chinese)
