Employment prospects: IR at Stanford or Tutfs?

Hey everyone,

I'm an international student so it will be extremely hard for me to get a job after undergraduate study here in the US. Therefore, what IR major would offer me the best opportunities in terms of employment abroad? An undergrad IR degree from Stanford or Tufts?

Thanks for your help! Really appreciate it.

Well, it probably won’t help me that I spelled one of the schools wrong… Haha wrote that really fast.

Who do you want to work for. I’m sure Tufts is tied in to things like the State Department but Stanford overall would provide more opportunities in business and in general.

I don’t think I’d be able to work for the state department but I was hoping to maybe work in consulting, private companies, think tanks, NGOs, or one of the main world organizations such as the UN, World Bank or IMF.

Stanford’s IR department is a Top 10 program but Tufts is centered around their Top 3 program and has a lot more extracurricular activities and special programs to offer.

One other thing I was thinking about is that I’d really like to double major in another social science, maybe economics, public policy, or even art history (haha). Don’t know where that would fit in the picture, though.
