employment question

Does anybody know any place that hires just for the weekends? Next semester I'll be in class everyday till 2:00 so I won't be able to work much during the week, but on weekends I can work all day.

try the movies, i think they are only open on the weekends...

hmm, try asking a restaurant for a delivery job

most movie places are open on weekdays at well

But, almost any place that works on an hourly schedule (movies, restaurants, stores, etc) will have positions that are flexible enough to only work weekends. Ask about it when you pick up applications.

Yeah, I'm going to pick up some applications tomorrow. I used to work at Cinemark, about 3 years ago. I worked Saturdays and Sundays. Only problem was the pay. I was making less than 6 dollars an hour. So I was hoping there would be someplace with better pay. I've also thought about Home Depot. I know they pay like 9 dollars an hour, but I don't think they have weekend only shifts.

Mead...

If you're only going to be in class til two, working during the week shouldn't be a problem.

If you wanted something like Home Depot, you could work like, two week days (from 3-close) and during the weekends.

I think places like Home Depot are open til 9 or 10 at night, so you'd still be making lots of money, but have enough time to study too.

How about fast food chains.

wendys in Open to 1AM here in NY.

You can work afternoons during the week...last year I had a job from 3-6pm after school.

Where??????

I had a 3-6 job too. At the coffeehouse. Granted, during the summer, my hours increased, but it was really nice to just pop over after school, earn some money, be home for dinner and still have a good chunk of the night left.

My sister had a 3-6 job at a French bakery. She also worked 10-4 on Saturdays. You CAN find an afterclasses job, you just have to look for them.

Rabo: I work at a coffee house too. My hours are longer (3-9), but I made arrangements with my manager so that I could work Th/F during school so that I'd still have weekends free for studying and partying.

Yeah, I used to work in a bakery that was 3-6:30 as well as saturday. Hours increased a little more in the summer but I would have liked longer hours then (or more days). It also didnt pay that much but that was made up for by the quantities of free expensive and great bread (easily added a dollar an hour to the paycheck if I took just one loaf).

Unfortunately they closed. It would be cool to find a bakery near my college to work (free food for the poor college student and all..) but it might not help keep off the weight.

One semester I worked at an amusement park as a technician. I would come in one day during the week for 6 hours or so (usually on Tuesday but sometimes on Friday night) and then work 8 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday. Friday night shifts would be from 4 - 10 or so typically. And I got paid decently well there for the 22 hours or so I would work every week. Plus I took 16 hours of classes and I still had plenty of free time. So don't hesitate to work a little during the week if you have to.
