How important is it to be able to list an employment history on your resume when applying to law schools?

I am a rising senior and have had an unpaid internship on the finance team of a political campaign for the past two summers (not during the academic year). However, I have not held a part-time or summer job.

This fall, I will be taking a decent number of credit hours, including working on my honors thesis in poli-sci. I am also taking the October LSAT.

Will my application be lacking (i.e., will it hurt my chances) if I have never held a paid position? Rather, would it make a significant difference in my chances if I were to get an on-campus job for the next few months?

Specifically, how much of an impact would it have on my chances at a school like NYU Law (assuming that my GPA and LSAT are respectable for NYU applicants)?
