Work Experience?

I know law school admissions is basically about gpa/lsat. is work experience/internships on a resume relevant at all?

if I worked for an economic consulting firm, interned in the nyc mayors office, and interned at the white house during my undergrad years, would these be seen as impressive to law school admissions officers and bolster my chances if I had a 3.6 and a 169 lsat

Substantive, full-time, post-college work experience can be a factor. Internships aren’t going to be, and the ones you’ve described are fairly typical for law school applicants.

In my humble opinion–
all that work experience might do is that it could put you on top of the heap with all the other applicants that have a 3.6 and a 169.
so if 150 kids apply to UVA or Georgetown and basically have 3.6/169; and the school will only accept 25 with those stats, you might benefit from being one of the lucky 25.
But it’s not going to put you ahead of those that have better stats.
In many instances all you need is to distinquish yourself from all the other applicants that have similar stats to yourself.

LS admissions staff is most impressed from gpa and lsat scores. But if you have a bit more to add to your background, it might help your chances if the school takes just a limited amount of kids within that statistical range .
