I really don't like these threads with ranking lists, but this time I'm happy to see it. Why? Because it brought attention to Conserve. I had never heard of this school before seeing this thread and am delighted to learn about what sounds like a fabulous place.

There are many, many wonderful schools out there. Kids, cast wide nets and discover a place that really fits you. My husband may be the best for me, "top tier" perhaps, but my friends might classify him as third tier.

I believe both my kids are the most wonderful, special human beings. Both are smart, talented, etc. I think that the schools that would be BEST for my son "rank" around 40 or so on most of the ranking lists I see. I'm preaching to the choir, parents, I know.

Erybyk- your numbers are simply wrong- where do you get them? I'm sure that all of the schools' endowments are lower as of this moment, but a simple google search of such reliable organizations as the New York Times and the Ten Schools Association will show that you are off by as much as 50 million dollars in some cases. Once again, I am curious as to your motivation. Are you concerned that your child is going to a lesser ranked school, and you are trying to boost that school in the "rankings?" Parents and prospective students looking at this website, particularly those from overseas, need to know that the information posted here is often...wrong.

Endowment per student appears more indicative of a school's quality on the surface than just the total endowment, but is it?

Doesn't a larger endowment allow for more and better facilities and programs, which benefit all students -- even if there are 1000 of them? Can a school with a considerably smaller endowment, albeit one with a lower enrollment (thereby giving it a higher endowment per student ratio) afford to "keep up" with those of higher endowment?

There are probably many schools with relatively small endowments yet with similar overhead costs to the more wealthy ones. Because those fixed costs must be met doesn't that leave much less for additional "offerings" -- ones that the wealthier schools can absorb comfortably?

What is your problem with my posting?
I do not have any motivatioon. If I do have, I like to share and exchange
some info and opinion with other people. if you do not ant to share or exchange your info or opinion, you don't have to.

I am collecting the info and post them to share with other people. If you do not like them, do not read them. I am not conerning about anything. It looks like you are concerning about something.
If you have different data, post them and share with people. Some people do not like certain newspaper articles, and some do. The judgement is totally up to the people who read the newspper. Just like that, people like or dislike a certain set of data.

Boarding school review is out of date, and your information is not correct. You have even given schools incorrect names. Are you happy to be posting incorrect information? And you did not anwer the question- WHY are you making up these rankings? If you do not give an answer, then we can speculate about your motivation. MY motivation is to make sure that prospective students have accurate information. I have many students and friends who ask for my advice and information, and I like to steer them in the right direction. I enjoy reading other people's opinions, which are clearly just that..opinions, and not presented as facts. Actually, I wish that College Confidential had a fact checker.

I can speculate your motivation about criticizing other people's posting. If you have the correct infomation, you can post that correct info. You cannot criticizing other people's information. Of course any source is not perfect since the data keeps changing. Eve if you quote today's data, it can be wrong tomorrow if the data is not updated continuously. You said that your motivation is make sure that prospective students have accurate informat. That is one of my motivation as well. Unless you have the perfect data and info and get them updated constantly and unless you are an expert, how can you make sure that you are providing the accurate information. Please do not pretend tht you are the only right person and you are the only person who know everything.

Has the Conserve School finally received accreditation? Last time that I checked, it had failed to obtain accredited status despite multiple tries.

It has provisional status with NAIS Conserve School - About Conserve / Memberships. It was founded in 2002. I don't know how long it takes to be fully accredited, but it usually takes a number of years. I suspect that they would not be provisional if they were not complying with standards NAIS - About NAIS - Accreditation. I don't know which accrediting group would be responsible for Conserve.

To the best of knowledge, that list seems to be about right. If the Conserve School is not accredited, that's probably because the achool is still too young. But I believe that the school has a great potential to grow sinceit has a quite amount of endowment.
I like this thread because it provides a useful informatiion. I wonder why a person is not happy with this. All the information in this forum are somewhat subjective. We all knw that, and there is nothing wrong with that. We have to respect each other and we should not offend others. I like to see more this kind of info.

You accused without even finding there source and maybe if the poster would have named there source you may not have jumped to conclusions. I saw this exact info on boarding schoolreview.com. unfortunately they dont state in what year the info is from. but many of the schools send you to this sight for comparative info on schools. It still gives you an idea of where schools stand as far as their endowment even if its off. as with anything double check the info with the school itself for up to date and more accurate numbers

This ranking (again???) is not correct, at least for the school I'm in right now and the schools of my other family members.

Also, there are many many schools you can not find from boardingschoolreview.com. They are excellent schools, tier 1 (ranking again???)

If you are applying this year, it's better to contact school directly or visit their official website. Information from other website or blog or CC are only for REFERENCE, not exactly correct. Ranking is totally not necessary, sometimes even mislead people.
