I contacted almost all of the professors in the ee department, and I told them that I am interested in participating in one of their research projects or at least learn about the required skills in order to be an active participant. Almost half of the professors were very helpful and have met many of them. I even got an offer from one of them to participate in her new project :)

Has anyone heard of someone getting a rejection letter for the ME department? I haven’t received anything yet so I want to know if I’m more likely rejected or just waitlisted.

My unofficial transcript just changed today.
The college changed from UW Tacoma to Engineering. Major changed from Pre CSS (Tacoma) to ELECTRICAL ENGR. Does it mean I got into uws?

For people accepted into CSE, has any of you has your major change to CSE yet, or do you still just see your intended major? Do we have to wait until orientation for this to change, and be able to register for classes?

@ramo12 How do you know that all ME apps have been reviewed? A couple of friends and I are still awaiting notification.

Also, I’m a little bit worried that I haven’t heard from anyone. Here is my situation:
I’m a current student at UW and I haven’t heard from ME or MSE (there are two big red X’s under “Decision Email Sent”) and IndE claims that a notification email was sent to me on 7/20/2012 yet I never got the email. I’ve tried contacting the department and instead get an out of office reply that the admissions department is going to be out for the next week.
Any idea on what I should do? Any way to check whether I’m in a department or not just like people can check to see if they have an Unofficial transcript to see if they got into UW or not?

I have applied to Mechanical as well, and I have yet received my decision e-mail. My transcript processing deadline is already gone, supposedly meaning that my transcripts have been processed or at least viewed. There is still a red cross in the “Application Decision E-mail Sent” field.

I am surprised to see that many other ME applicants are in the same situation with me. I have never heard of the ME department using a wait-list before. I am awfully scared at this stage, especially given that July is about to end.

Does anyone know if a late reply is associated with anything, say the date of sending the application? I am badly hoping that this has nothing to do with my chances of acceptance.

By the way, if I have different addresses on my UW application and my ME application, which one would they send the e-mail to? I am an international student, and I am currently outside the USA. I used my home address on the UW application. But as I was required to fill in an US address on the ME application, I used my host family’s address. Which one would they use?

I heard ME applicants are supposed to receive the decision via snail mail. I’m not sure that applies to international students though. Also, a friend of mine who submitted his application on the last day (and past 2pm) already received a decision last Thursday.

I sent my application at about 0700 (GMT+8) on 2nd July, or about 1600 (GMT-7) on 1st July. The deadline confused me quite a bit. On the ME page, the deadline was 1st July. However, in the application app, it was some time in the 2nd July afternoon.

I hope my late action did not caused any negative effects on my application.

My friend submitted his application past the listed deadline, and he has already received his letter. You’re supposed to get a snail mail, but I don’t really know if it’s the same for those who have addresses outside the US.

@FS1819 sorry about the rejection. did your host family receive the rejection even though there was still a red “x” under “Decision Email Sent”?
